Founded in 1909, Safe Alliance (formerly United Family Services) has evolved with the needs of the local community. Today, the organization is devoted to improving the quality of life of thousands of families in the Charlotte area to restore basic levels of security, self-sufficiency, and belonging through quality services such as:

Safe Alliance: “Where Hope & Healing Begin.”

Safe Alliance has served Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Union, and South Iredell counties for over 100 years. Their staff and volunteers annually assist more than 20,000 victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, homicide, child maltreatment, and other felony crimes in the 4 counties they serve. In December 2012, the Clyde & Ethel Domestic Violence Shelter for Women & Children opened their doors thanks to the support of events such as the Charlotte Run for Peace at Home.
